Meet Janice Caruana
The founder of il-Kamra s-Safra.
After pursuing her degree in Nursing, she worked for many years as an Ambulance nurse & in emergency settings. But it was not enough. Janice became curious and wanted to understand the persons' dynamics, relationships, behaviours and more. In 2022, she graduated with a Pg. Dip in Systemic Family Therapy and is currently reading for a Masters.
Janice is the mother of a girl called Kyra. Like many other mothers, she is a multi-tasker balancing life, job, cycling and studying. Janice is also the researcher and the author of the renowned book "il-Majjistra u t-twelid fil-komunitá Maltija fis-seklu 20". She is also the founder of the project' il-Kamra s-Safra.'
Planning ahead, Janice was looking for a room to work in. She booked a table in the local coffee shop to discuss her ideas with the designer. However, on her first meeting with the designer, the surrounding noise, the small table and the coffee cups made it difficult for a one-to-one consultation and drawing. So, instead of transforming il-Kamra s-Safra into a therapy room only, she came up with the idea to transform it into a multi-purpose workspace to be used by other professionals.
